It's not up to me
It is not for me to choose.. It is for you to pick up the pieces behind whatever broken soul that you left behind. So hold your head up high. It is a new year. A new day to die.

The Blackout That Shined Lights On It All
“To be a star, you must shine your own light, follow your
own path, and don't worry about the darkness, for that is when the stars shine
brightest.”
Last
night I made the trip down to Louisville for a concert. I have made this trip
many times before, but this would be my first trip in over a year. This trip,
just like the others, was about a 2 hour drive. I know a lot of people make a
trip like this for big name artist, but this trip was for an underground group
who are making waves in the music world. I have seen Elephant Room many times
before, and each time was better than the last. Last night was no exception.
We left
around 4 pm and doors didn’t open until 8. We were 4 deep. Brad, myself, Pat(brads
father-in-law) and his nephew Patrick. Due to traffic we didn’t get there until
6:30. I know we showed up around an hour and a half early but we have always
left early due to not knowing how the trip will go. We meet up with everyone
and they all geeked over my Elephant Room tattoo. It was nice.
Now
this isn’t going to be a long review of the show but something else. Each
artist that played was good in their own right, and they were a good group of
guys themselves. The show ended on a bad note due to a power outage. Some
jackass hit a power line and killed the power for the block. Even though that
happened it ended up being one of the better shows that I have ever been to. Period.
Was I
there to hear music? Yes. But I was also there to see friends and hang out. I
had more fun in those hours then I have had in a while. Taking with Chase about
the street team stuff, and flipping out Papaw because I asked him to sign the
cd. Taking photos with Chris’s face next to my arm. To getting a bro hug from
Shelby, and Jakob being Jakob and showing me love. It’s nights like this that
I will never forget. Along with Elephant Room showing me mad love the boys from
Sick Flair (Tucker, and Dylan), and Shaun Willson himself showed me nothing but
the uppermost respect.
What
happened last night wasn’t any ones at the shows fault. Life happens. Just go
extra hard at next week’s show for me. I will be there in spirit.
“Many artist relay on the fame, and the money to fuel their
career, but it takes a real artist to do it for their fans, and for the love of
it.” - Me
